The building of Aghala Museum in Koya city is ready for inauguration
The Museum is located in bottom of Haybat Sultan mountain near Koya University, the building map is designed by engineer Ahmad Balkhayee and Rostam Aghala , on a land which is 650 Miter square.
A selection of modern art painting for Kurdish and foreign artist will be shown , the museum is going to have the ownership all the pieces of Art which are presented there .
Aghala Museum will become the largest place for showing Kurdish and international artist work in the region and it will become a cultural and learning institution for modern art in Middle East, in all Kurdistan there will be no any other place which can compete with Aghala Museum.
Building this Museum took 4 years of very careful work with special stone from Kore and Qaradagh area , the building style is a copy of Koya Houses from 150 years ago.
The idea and initial fund for the project came directly from famous Kurdish artist Rostam Aghala , later the Kurdish polotition man Nichervan Barzani supported him financially in finishing period and he became the main supporter for this project .,
It is worth mentioning Asia cell and USA consulate in Erbil contributed financially in some parts of the project .
